M on TV

A long time ago, I was on Talk Back, a show on Dawn TV (Pakistan), with a few friends... anyone interested in hearing me babble (boy, do I talk fast!) ... here you are :)

The truveo links are down...were all of you moderates or was it hard to express a strong opinion in the case of Kashmir (the other parts I'll agree with) on PakiTV?

The links seem to work fine for me..
The show is what it was... and I think in terms of Kashmir.. it never became a passionate debate about the subject.. what you see on this was the whole of it..
Also, the Pak TV guys were really nice...

I guess then the youth just wants the thing resolverd either way. Its only the politicos that are fueling the fire...I have nothing against the PakTV guys, just asking!

Don’t be too harsh on yourself about rapidfire articulation. If there’s lots to say, there’s lots to say, though TV is so soundbyte oriented that it often pays to say only a few weighty things ---sloooowly. Especially, if the audience lives largely in parts of the subcontinent less conversant with English (unsure if this is so, but it sure seems to be the case), maybe on account of historical resistance to a colonial education system allegedly rigged to stoke prejudices / inflate egos etc in order to ‘divide-and-rule’ (ironic, this, given what was to follow).

Even today, after ‘liberalisation’, there are many on both sides of the divide who watch TV only to see what’s being spun which way (to what end, and in whose interest, they can figure for themselves). That Gujarat’s Modi is seen as a mere cog in the BJ Party’s vote extraction machine, with ‘development’ engineered to be the new zeitgeist (rabblerousing to the accompaniment of Bob-The-Builder’s greatgreat signature tune, as Col Bogey would have it) is particularly interesting, for it allows people to hear the part they want to hear.

Hi Mahima
Kya hum dost ban sakte hai,
you dream the most & i know how to make dreams come true.... waiting for your reply
you said "You have to dig a hole to China. Where do you start?"
start where you are otherwise you will be late and someone will start before you.

Now you are dreaming who is this guy?

Oh, by the way, somehow the YouTube clip quality here doesn't quite live up (in audio feed terms mostly, though even video) to your fun clip on Bollywood dynasties a while ago (on which have made a belated comment). Presumably there's plenty of technical (not to mention other) catching up to do, ha ha, esp by our friendly in-half-denial neighbours to the west

Al Jazeera quality vs Dawn quality!

Lots of things to say in a limited time. If your speed goes up, just means you care.
